“Multiple explosions” recorded near a ship sailing in the waters of the Red Sea

The Houthi rebels have denounced this Tuesday new bombings by the armies of the United States and the United Kingdom against several points in Yemen, without for now there being any information about victims and without Washington and London having commented on the matter.
The attacks have been carried out against the provinces of Hodeida and Baida, according to information collected by the Al Masirah television network, linked to the group, specifically against the towns of Tuhayat and Soma, respectively.
The rebels already reported bombings against the country on Monday, without the United States or the United Kingdom reacting. However, Washington confirmed on Sunday that it had carried out several airstrikes on Saturday against alleged targets of the group in the Asian country.
On the other hand, a ship transiting the waters of the Red Sea was the target of an attack this Tuesday, according to the ship’s captain, who stated that “multiple explosions” were recorded in the surroundings of the ship, without causing damage.
United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), linked to the British Royal Navy, has stressed in its account on the social network X that the ship continues on its way to the port of destination. “The authorities are investigating,” he said.
The Houthis, who have controlled the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and other areas of the north and west of the country since 2015, have launched several attacks against Israeli territory and against ships with some type of Israeli connection as a result of the offensive launched against Gaza after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
The rebels have also attacked US and British ships and drones in response to these countries’ bombing of Yemen. Washington and London say they are acting to defend free navigation in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.
