The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has assured that “it does not seem possible” to resume rail traffic on the high-speed line that connects Valencia and Madrid in the next four days, given that the damage to the infrastructure caused by DANA is “important.”

In a message published on his profile on the social network ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the minister questions the possibility that circulation can recover in the remainder of the week. “Resuming service in the next four days does not seem possible,” he acknowledged.

In this sense, he pointed out that when the Ministry has “a definitive diagnosis on the necessary deadlines to rebuild the line” they will make it public.

Iryo and Ouigo have suspended all their high-speed circulations between Madrid and Valencia due to damage to the infrastructure due to the floods in the Valencian Community caused by DANA, while Renfe has them suspended until further notice.

The suspension of the circulation of high-speed trains between Madrid and Valencia as a result of DANA has affected nearly 24,000 people. Renfe estimates that the impact on its AVE and Long Distance trains currently affects 11,410 passengers this Wednesday, a figure to which are added the 2,722 from yesterday, due to the impact on the public operator it amounts to 14,130 people.

Adif has closed circulation on this high-speed line throughout the day today, but has not yet reported when it will reopen. The Valencia-Barcelona trains do not run either, nor the Valencia Cercanías trains, although some lines are subject to the evolution of the weather.
