The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence services, Kirilo Budanov, stated on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is sick with cancer and has assured that the president does not have long to live.

“Of course. He has been ill for a long time,” he answered a question about the state of health of the Russian president during an interview with ABC, collected by the Ukrinform news agency.

Putin’s state of health has been the subject of speculation for months after he was seen in various public appearances with apparent mobility problems, suspicions that resurfaced especially after the meeting he held in the Kremlin with French President Emmanuel Macron, in February.
