The leader of the Transnistrian communists, Oleg Jorzhanwas found dead with signs of violence at his home in the town of sucleiareported the Ministry of the Interior of the moldovan breakaway republic.
“Oleg Jorzhan’s corpse was found by his wife in one of the rooms next to a safe that it was open and empty”, says the official note. The news was also confirmed by the leader of the Russian communists, Gennady Zyuganov.
“The leader of the Transnistrian communist party, Oleg Jorzhan died last night. They killed him at home. We demand to immediately launch an investigation,” Zyuganov told a news conference in Moscow.
In 2018, Jorzhan was sentenced to four years in prison by a Transnistrian court for organizing unauthorized demonstrations and publicly insult representatives of power. He was released last year, according to the Moldovan news agency moldpres.
