The Government perceives a moderation in the progress of the economy in the third quarter, but rules out a drop in GDP

Sep. 8 () –

The Government has perceived a moderation in the rate of progress of economic activity in the third quarter of the year compared to the second, but all the data available to date continue to point to positive growth in that period.

Although the latest update of the forecast model for the evolution of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in real time (MIPred) of the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) indicated a drop of 0.4% in the third quarter of the year in the quarter-on-quarter, from the Executive they consider that there is still not enough data to make that estimate and, in any case, they assure that a positive growth will be registered in that period.

Sources from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation have highlighted the solid and positive performance of the Spanish Gross Domestic Product (GDP) this year.

The Government’s forecast for this year is 4.3%, an estimate with which the Executive says it feels very comfortable, although they will closely monitor all the macroeconomic data that are expected to be published in the coming weeks in view of the approval of the Draft General State Budgets for 2023.
