Aug. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of Ethiopia has accused the Popular Front for the Liberation of Tigray (TFLP) of “closing all options for peace” in the north of the country and has defended the military operations launched this week, without alluding to the alleged bombing of a nursery .
The two parties accuse each other of breaking the fragile ceasefire and resuming the conflict that broke out in November 2020. According to the Abiy Ahmed Executive, the rebel group wants “a large-scale conflict.”
In this sense, he has accused the TFLP in a statement of preparing all kinds of “brutal activities” that threaten the civilian population of both the Tigray region and the neighboring Amhara and Afar regions, reports the FANA network.
The note does not include details of the operations that the Armed Forces supposedly carry out “with full efficiency and capabilities.” The TPLF has accused the Ethiopian forces of bombing a nursery and medical sources cited by the Bloomberg agency have confirmed at least four deaths, two of them children.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has condemned the attack this Saturday, confirming that there are minors among the victims of this incident.
