From the political sphere, the Mission-Oriented Research and Innovation Policy (PIIOM) is positioned as a strategic framework to foster collaboration between key actors and sectors in a multi-level governance model. This approach drives the construction of shared objectives that address both local needs and global commitments, ensuring the active inclusion of historically excluded communities in decision-making processes. The PIIOM promotes the formulation of public policies that prioritize equity, environmental sustainability and inclusive economic development, strengthening diverse and productive markets in the territories.
By integrating science into the design and execution of these policies, it ensures that decisions are both legitimate and effective, comprehensively addressing structural challenges.
From the scientific field, the PIIOM establish mission-oriented research as an essential tool to promote inclusive, sustainable and transformative development. This approach prioritizes the generation of interdisciplinary and innovative knowledge, focused on strengthening sustainable productive chains, the conservation of biodiversity and the development of local capacities for economic diversification. Science acts as a catalyst for evidence-based solutions, promoting territorial resilience, equality in access to markets and the transformation of production models. Furthermore, the transfer of technology and knowledge to communities strengthens their capacity to actively participate in sustainable markets, respecting cultural and territorial particularities, and contributing to the generation of livelihoods that harmonize with their local contexts.
