The main selling point that Google Pixel smartphones initially had, in addition to direct support from Google, was none other than their prices that were much lower than those of the competition with similar features.
However, the search engine company has been increasing them little by little in each new version, and now the latest leaks They point out that The Google Pixel 9 and its variants will have much higher prices, even surpassing flagships from companies with much larger market share.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be the first foldable in Google’s Pixel range, in this case we expected a high price, but not one that would exceed 2,000 euros in its version of 512 GB (2,029 euros). The most basic version with 256 GB will have an equally high price of 1,899 euros.
Things don’t get any better if we go for conventional terminals with a fixed screen: The most basic Google Pixel 9 Pro XL with 128 GB will cost 1,199 euros. If we want the 1 TB model we will have to pay an impressive 1,689 euros. In the case of the Google Pixel 9 Pro, the 512 GB variant remains at 1,329 euros. Even the 128GB version will cost over a thousand euros at €1,099.
There will be no respite even in the model with the lowest performance. The most basic Google Pixel 9 will cost 899 euros with only 128 GB of storage. The 256 GB variant is priced at 999 euros.
This is certainly bad news for those who were hoping that Google would keep prices low. It is to be expected that this price increase will affect sales of these devices.
