The Google Assistant will be able to summarize the content of a web page in its version for Android

Google has introduced a new capacity for its Assistant, which will be capable of summarizing the content of a web page and which will soon arrive on Android devices, as has been verified in the latest beta of the application.

The company has been focused on generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for months, launching and improving tools such as the Bard chatbot and NotebookLM, as well as preparing new ones, including Genesis.

Now, Google has decided to take a feature already present in another of the services it offers, Google Docs, such as automatic summaries, as well. AI powered. This tool can break down a long-form document into different key points.

Specifically, the company has chosen to introduce a similar format in its Assistant, as they have been able to verify from 9to5Google in the latest beta version 14.29 of the Google app for Android, which introduces the ‘Summarize’ button.

This button, which is presented at the bottom of the browser interface, will appear during navigation and also when an app opens a web page in a custom tab from Chrome.
