In the evening hours of this September 23, The motion for the first debate of the draft General Budget of the Nation for 2025 was filed.
This articulated maintains the 523 billion pesos Initially proposed by the National Government, however, it has modifications proposed by several congressmen.

It is worth mentioning that the Economic Commissions of the Senate of the Republic and the House of Representatives were the ones who submitted the proposal. The project will be put to a vote on Tuesday, September 24.

Distribution of expenditure
The total amount proposed by the national government is equivalent to 29.4% of GDP and is distributed as follows: $327.9 billion (62.7% of the total) for operating expenses; $112.6 billion (21.5%) for debt service; and $82.5 billion (the remaining 15.8%) for investment expenses.
The spending sector to which more resources would be allocated would be the coverage of national public debtwith $109.8 billion, 19% more than the 2024 Budget.

Likewise, in terms of portfolios, Education will receive the most, with $79.2 billion. The Presidency would receive $1.7 billion, while the Treasury will receive $33.2 billion, Health $67 billion, Labor $23.4 billion and Mines and Energy $11.2 billion.
