In addition to all this, Newzoo has revealed that the 90 percent of income obtained from the launch of new games in 2023 has been raised by 43 games exclusively.

On the other hand, the study has also reflected that, although the market has grown again, the Quarterly average playing time has dropped by 26 percent since the first quarter of 2021. Furthermore, only 66 titles accounted for 80 percent of game time in 2023.

Following this line, the Chinese and American gamers accounted for 50 percent of all video game spending during 2023. In fact, users in the United States spent more than 46 billion dollars (around 42.4 billion euros).

In the case of Europe, spending is up 1.3 percent compared to 2022, while in Asia and the Pacific it has decreased by 0.2 percent. Likewise, gamers in the Middle East and Africa, who account for 4 percent of total spending, have also increased their spending on games by up to 4.6 percent.

With all this, Newzoo has indicated that, although pessimism currently prevails throughout the industry, its forecasts for the video game market are optimistic, with the vision of 6 percent growth by 2025.
