The Game Awards 2022 logo

( Spanish) — The Game Awards are the awards that honor the best video games of the year and this December 8th the edition corresponding to the year 2022 is celebrated.

God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West are the two titles that lead the nominations for this edition with 10, 7 and 7 nominations respectively, with the three titles also being among the six finalists for the absolute game of the year award (Game of the Year or GOTY for its acronym in English). During the event, it is already common not only to meet the winners of the different awards, but also to see the announcements of new video game releases worldwide.

The nominations have been chosen by a jury made up of more than 100 media outlets and influencers from around the world.

These awards have managed to become the benchmark for the video game industry, something like the Oscars for movies or the Grammys for music.
