The French Justice suspends the expulsion of Ciotti, who remains for the moment as leader of Los Republicanos

The Judicial Court of Paris has suspended this Friday the expulsion of Eric Ciotti of the conservative The Republicans (LR), so he continues as president of this formation, thus leaving the two orders of the party’s executive committee void.

Ciotti was expelled due to his plan to forge an alliance with Marine Le Pen’s far-right for the early legislative elections on June 30 and July 7 in France, according to reports Efe.

“The Judicial Court of Paris has suspended my expulsion from The Republicans, so I retain my functions as president of the same”, asserted on the social network Jacques Chirac.

“Now it’s time to campaign with the right-wing alliance to win the far left“Ciotti added in a statement to BFMTV.

This Friday’s ruling is, however, provisional and urges the defense of the still president to present the pertinent “substantive” allegations within a period of eight days. If he does not do so, that suspension will be void.

The Court’s decision refers to the expulsions decreed by the political bureau of the LR that met on June 12 as an emergency, endorsed this same Friday the 14th, when they convened a quarter of the National Council of the formation, a much larger meeting than the executive.
