The first Leopard 2 that Canada has donated to Ukraine has already arrived in Poland. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Canada, Anita Anandvia Twitter.
“The first Canadian Leopard 2 main battle tank that we have donated to Ukraine has already arrived in Poland. We stand with our allies and soon we will be training the Armed Forces of Ukraine so that they can use this equipment”Anand explained in the aforementioned social network.
In this way, Canada becomes one of the first NATO member states to send this type of weapon so that it can be used as soon as possible by the troops of Zelensky in the Ukrainian war.
Last week Canada announced that it would join an international “tank coalition” and deliver four Leopard 2s to Ukraine. And he also promised to buy the powerful NASAMS missile shield and 200 armored vehicles to help the Ukrainians defeat the troops of Vladimir Putin.
On the other hand, a first consignment of TOA APC M-113 armored personnel carriers, which Spain promised to send to Ukraine, will depart “between Monday and Tuesday” from the port of Bilbao to Ukrainian territory, as confirmed by the defense minister, Daisy Robles.

The vehicles, which arrived at the Bilbao port facilities last Thursday, are the first 20 of the consignment that Spain promised to send and which will set sail in the next few hours for a port on the Baltic Sea. They will arrive in Ukrainian territory in an ordinary transport by ship chartered by a private consignee that operates in the port of Bilbao, according to reports efe.
More armored in spring
On the other hand, the head of Defense has assured that the will of the allied countries is that Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks arrive on Ukrainian territory “in late March or early spring”with the aim of not leaving “without a minimum of defense” “a country that is being cruelly massacred” in the face of an “offensive that is clearly going to take place in the spring.”
Speaking to the media after the 2022 Defense Awards ceremony at the ministry’s headquarters, Robles has once again expressed the “coordination” and “commitment” of Spain with the rest of its allies for the delivery of material to Ukraine for the “sole purpose of preserving and protecting peace”.
And he has reiterated that said shipment is not detrimental to national defense nor does it pose “any risk of escalation”, despite criticism from those who “speak without having much idea”.

Due to the “discretion” that this type of action requires, Robles has not detailed the exact number of Leopard 2A4s that will be shipped to Ukraine from Spain.although it has indicated that some of them “are not recoverable”.
“The individual shipment must always go in a group so that it is finally integrated into instruments such as the battalions”, he explained, before influencing Spain’s offer to “train the necessary personnel to carry the Leopards”, a task that can take “between two months and two and a half months”.
