The European Union will request negative Covid tests from travelers from China

The European Union (EU) will ask all passengers leaving China for member states to have a negative Covid-19 test carried out no more than 48 hours before leaving the country, they will carry out wastewater tests on planes and airports and will also random tests upon arrival in the EU before the easing of travel restrictions by China as of January 8.

This is stated in the institutional declaration of the Swedish Council presidency after the meeting of the Member States on Wednesday, in the presence of the Schengen associated countries, within the framework of the integrated political response to the crises to discuss the epidemiological situation in China and the coordinated EU response to the outbreak of coronavirus infections.
