The European hotel industry chooses Spain to hold its annual assembly in April

28 Feb. () –

The European representatives of hotels, restaurants, bars and cafes and similar establishments in Europe have chosen Spain to celebrate the 86th annual meeting of the Hotrec employers’ association in April, according to a statement from Hospitality of Spain.

Specifically, Tenerife was the destination chosen last October in Stockholm as the venue for the next European hospitality business conclave, which will be co-organized by Hospitality of Spain and the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation
(CEHAT), and will be hosted by the Hotel and Non-Hotel Association of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro (Ashotel).

Hospitality of Spain, CEHAT and Ashotel have highlighted that a European entity such as Hotrec has chosen Spain as the venue for its next assembly is an opportunity for representatives of the hospitality and tourism sector from all over Europe to come to Spain.

Founded four decades ago, Brussels-based Hotrec promotes the key role of the hospitality and tourism sector in Europe. It acts as a forum for exchange and helps to promote a regulatory framework and a business environment in which to offer maximum value to the European society and economy.

Currently, the European employers’ association encompasses 46 associations
nationals in 35 countries and is the voice of the hospitality industry in Europe.

In this way, Hotrec represents 1.7 million companies, mainly SMEs, and generates 9.5 million jobs (4.4% of total employment in Europe).
