The EU stands in solidarity with Canada after the multiple stabbing that has left ten dead

The European Union has shown its solidarity with Canada on Monday after the multiple stabbing, which has left ten dead and 15 injured in various parts of the province of Saskatchewan, and whose authors have not yet been located by the Canadian authorities.

“Horrified by the deadly attack in Saskatchewan. Dear (Prime Minister) Justin Trudeau, dear Canadian people, Europe mourns with you. I hope that the perpetrators are soon located and brought to justice,” said the President of the European Commission , Ursula von der Leyen, in a message on social networks.

Thus, the leader of the European Executive has indicated that she will pay tribute to the victims in person during her next trip to Canada scheduled for two weeks.

In another show of solidarity, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, has indicated that the EU’s thoughts are with the victims of the “horrible tragedy”. “We wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Our condolences to the Canadian people and to Justin Trudeau,” he said.

At least ten people have died and 15 have been injured in a multiple stabbing this Sunday in central Canada. Authorities are looking for two male suspects, Damien Sanderson, 31; and Myles Sanderson, 30.

While Trudeau has lamented the event and has asked residents to follow the instructions of local authorities. “The attacks in Saskatchewan today are horrific and heartbreaking. I think of those who have lost a loved one and those who have been injured,” he said in a post on the social network Twitter.
