In episode 16, the situation comes to a head when Hong Hae In, heiress of the Queens Group, regains her memory thanks to a diary that her enemy, Eun Sung, had tried to destroy. The awakening of this key memory prompts her to search for her husband, Baek Hyun Woo, who, after being run over by Eun Sung, is hospitalized.
Without paying attention to his medical condition, Hyun Woo escapes from the hospital determined to rescue the protagonist, who has been kidnapped by Eun Sung. In an attempt to flee together, the couple is confronted by their enemy. Seeing that Hae In refuses to follow him, the villain chooses to shoot him. At this moment, her lover heroically intervenes and is seriously injured.
Eun Sung’s atrocities come to their long-awaited end and justice is served after he dies after being surrounded by police and setting himself on fire in a desperate attempt to escape. Meanwhile, Hyun Woo is rushed to the hospital and survives thanks to medical care.
Did Hae In and Hyun Woo manage to find happiness together?
After overcoming countless obstacles, the couple finally finds the stability they longed for. Hyun Woo and Hae In fully reconcile and strengthen their love. Together they decide to start a family, with the arrival of a daughter, a dream that seemed to have been completely ruined previously, after the loss of their first baby.
The final episode, however, leaves a bittersweet taste by revealing an unexpected time jump. Decades later, in the year 2074, Hyun Woo is shown visiting the grave of Hae In, who died after living a full and happy life. In a scene full of symbolism, the protagonist, now older, contemplates the appearance of his beloved as an angel.
The fall of Mo Seul Hee and the closure of business conflicts
Another important aspect of the finale is the trial against Mo Seul Hee, who had conspired to take over the Queens Group. During the trial, Hae In declares that Seul Hee was the mastermind behind the deaths of her brother Su Won and her grandfather, the company president. Finally, an incriminating video confirms her accusations, allowing the protagonist’s family to regain control of the company.
Furthermore, Hyun Woo, as a lawyer, manages to uncover the frauds committed by Eun Sung and her mother and takes several conspirators, including Grace and Cheon Da Hye, to prison.
Will there be a second season of The Queen of Tears?
Although the closing of the first season, broadcast on April 28, left certain questions open, until now tvN, The production chain has not confirmed a continuation. However, the popularity that the drama achieved and its emotional ending have generated expectations among fans of a possible second season.
