Miele Duoflex HX1 Total Care –
Jul 20 (EDIZIONES/Portaltic) –
Miele’s new Duoflex HX1 Total Care cordless vacuum cleaner reaches every speck of dust, hair and, ultimately, dirt in its path, regardless of the type of terrain it moves on, as it is able to differentiate between hardwood floors and carpet and adjusts its speed so that each pass is efficient, although sometimes it can be difficult to clean. A little heavy.
Technological evolution has made us forget about old and cumbersome appliances in a matter of years to make way for more modern, comfortable and efficient ones, which facilitate daily use. and makes household chores less tedious and spend less time on them.
The appliance manufacturer Miele is aware of this and has therefore developed a cordless vacuum cleaner that allows for quick and easy cleaning, advantages that are materialised in a black colour design (Obsidian Black), with a copper-coloured suction tube that can fit into the decor of any home.
At Portaltic we have tested one of the latest products that have been added to the brand’s catalogue, Duoflex HX1 Total Careand we can say that we no longer even remember what it is like to use a traditional vacuum cleaner -also known as a sled vacuum cleaner-, much less what it means to use a robot vacuum cleaner.
Yeah an old vacuum cleaner It has major drawbacks, such as its weight, the noise it makes or the fact that it needs both disposable bags for dirt and a larger storage space to store it, but this does not happen with an appliance like Duoflex, which can be placed in any space and has a black metal wall bracket to fix it on a vertical surface. Thanks to the Grab&Go function and the wall bracket with SpeedLock system, It is possible to have the device on hand and ready for use.
We didn’t miss a robot vacuum cleaner too much during our tests, because we have experience with several of them and we still found the same problem: They do not follow the pre-established routes exactlywhich sometimes means that parts of the house are left unvacuumed.
That’s why we find a great advantage in Duoflex HX1 Total Care, which convinces us from the first contact, since its start-up is simple. Its modular design means that it only takes a couple of steps to start vacuuming, after choosing the head that we are going to use – which comes with a sliding ring to lock the electric brush during use – and placing the suction tube on it.
In total, it has two MultiFloor HX-EB 20 brushes, one larger and one smaller, which They clean very well because they have a release mechanism that allows you to easily remove the roller and remove any hair that may have become entangled during the vacuuming process.
It also includes an HX-UN upholstery cleaning accessory and another flat head to reach dirt deposited in corners and other tighter spaces. Although it does have a dedicated accessory for sofas and other similar surfaces, the result is still very good even when using the MultiFloor electric brush: it doesn’t remove everything, but it does get rid of a good part of the hair deposited by our pets on the sofas.
The vacuum cleaner, which is not designed for outdoor use, handles all types of indoor floors perfectly, even when used on carpets and rugs. In our case, we couldn’t be happier with its work on a doormat, as it gets rid of loose hair in just a couple of passes.
This is possible because the Miele product has a system that can recognise the type of surface and increases its power if necessary. However, this can also be controlled manually, as it has two buttons to regulate the power of the vacuum cleaner.
IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO LOAD AND IS A BIT HEAVY
Total, This vacuum cleaner can be used for about 55 minutes. thanks to the fact that it is equipped with a lithium-ion battery. This is enough time to clean an apartment of about 80 square meters as in our case, even passing through each room twice if necessary. However, the fact that it takes up to three and a half hours to fully charge can be a danger for those who are always on the go and need to give their house a once-over before a visit.
Getting this vacuum cleaner is not at all complicated, as it has a very manageable format, which allows for easy exchange of parts and heads. However, we are not entirely convinced by it. the procedure for emptying the tank. To empty the dust container, you must first remove the suction tube and, using the vacuum handle, move it to a rubbish bin to remove the dirt. In any case, it must be emptied when the ‘Max’ indicator is reached for efficient cleaning.
Although the deposit -with a capacityd of 0.3 liters- It has a button that unlocks the lid, but sometimes the automatic cleaning offered by this mechanism alone falls short and you have to reach in to grab the lint and other sucked-up material and throw it into the bin.
Weight is another aspect that we have had trouble finding the right one for. Although Duoflex HX1 Total Care can be used with one hand and the head moves smoothly in the direction in which we handle it, it is difficult to carry out the complete cleaning process without occasionally holding it with both hands, because its 3.1 kilos are a bit of a challenge if we do not have a good arm.
As an additional detail, it would not have been bad if Miele had added a flexible tube that would allow for better and more thorough cleaning under the bed and other difficult areas, since by integrating a rigid suction tube requires bending down in some parts of the house where it is more difficult to reach.
Despite these drawbacks, the result of Duoflex HX1 Total Care is so good and efficient that it doesn’t matter how much it weighs or how long it takes to charge: it is the product that any cleaning fanatic or animal lover needs if they want to keep their house in good condition.
