The Director of the Cabinet of the First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, Judith Arnal Martínez, has left office in a “jointly” agreed decision, as sources from this department have indicated to Europa Press.
The same sources frame this march, of which they assure that it is not a resignation, in the events that are expected for next year, when Spain corresponds to the Presidency of the EU during the second semester, which will make 2023 a year “particularly intense”.
The Government, at the proposal of Calviño, will appoint in the next Council of Ministers on Tuesday, December 27, which will have a marked economic nature with the approval of the third anti-crisis package, the person who will replace her in office.
Arnal, who was appointed in June 2021, is a commercial technician and State economist (2012) and a PhD in Economics and Business from the University of Navarra. She has been director of the Technical and Financial Analysis Office (2019-2021), general secretary of the Treasury and International Financing, president of the ‘Eurogroup Working Group Task Force on Coordinated Action’ (2016-2019, Council of the EU) and affairs advisor regulatory and European in the General Secretariat of the Treasury and International Financing (2012-2019).
Likewise, she has provided her services in the field of Competition Law in a relevant Spanish law firm (2009) and has been a director of the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (2020-2021) and of the National Innovation Company (2019-2020).
At the academic level, he has taught various courses at the University of Navarra and the Villanueva University and has written numerous academic articles on financial issues.
