The Pro range of the Google Pixel is presented as an alternative to access a team premium but to a lowest price than its direct rivals. The Pixel 7 Pro presented in 2022, with its virtues and defects, perfectly complies with the aforementioned formula.

This year we await the arrival of the Pixel 8 Pro, a proposal that should follow the same path as its predecessors. The truth is that the rumors have already started to go around and Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks) has published some really interesting renders.

The reputation of the leaker, who has a good track record of successfully disclosing information about products not yet submitted, invites us to think that there are great possibilities that what we are seeing is the final design of the smartphone. Let’s see.

Subtle but important changes

The camera module, which in the Pixel 7 Pro was presented in aluminum, would arrive in the same material, but with a huge oval cutout in which all the sensors will be grouped.

The flash, for its part, will continue to live on its own island, but now it will be accompanied by a new and mysterious sensor that will be located below it. The OnLeaks sources have not revealed what the functionality of this curious element will be, but the leaker suggests that it could be a macro, a depth one and one whose technology is “completely new”.

Certainly this section gives much to speculate. The photographic section is one of the strengths of the Pro range of the Pixels, and a jump at this point could be wise to continue conquering users who are fond of photography. We will have to wait for other leaks or the day of the presentation to verify it.

Full flat screen. The Pixel 7 Pro screen was quite close to the definition of “flat” (it incorporated a panel, if not a panel close to 2.5D). The evolution of the terminal will come with a completely flat 6.52-inch screen. The edges, yes, will arrive with a more pronounced curvature than the terminal it arrives to replace.
