The passage of tropical cyclone ‘Chido’ through Mozambique has so far left 120 dead and almost 870 injured, especially in the northern provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Niassa, according to a report provided this Tuesday by local authorities.

The National Institute for Risk Management and Natural Disasters has specified through an infographic published on its profile on the social network Facebook that Cabo Delgado has suffered the worst, where there are 110 deaths.

A total of 688,000 people have been affected by the cyclone, while almost 150,000 homes and fifty health centers have been destroyed. In this context, around 1,350 people have been welcomed in centers for displaced people.

Added to this balance are the fatalities recorded in the French department of Mayotte, located between Madagascar and Mozambique, where more than thirty deaths have been reported, and in Malawi, with at least thirteen deaths, as last reported. time the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
