The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeri Zaluzhni, has assured this Friday that he will try to recover the Crimean peninsula “as soon as he has the opportunity.”
“As soon as I have the opportunity, I will do something. I don’t care, nobody will stop me,” Zaluzhni said in statements to the US newspaper ‘The Washington Post’.
The Ukrainian military high command has thus highlighted its intention to recover this territory despite the fact that there are no guarantees from the West of what the Russian response could be in such a case, reports Ukrinform.
At this point, Zaluzhny has taken the opportunity to redouble Ukraine’s appeal to its allies to supply them with weapons. “The more Ukraine can shoot (…) the less losses it will suffer,” he said.
