The CEO of the company responsible for the Pegasus espionage software resigns from his position

The US tries to calm Israel's concern by ensuring that the agreement with Iran is not imminent

Aug. 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The chief executive of the Israeli company NSO, responsible for Pegasus espionage software, has resigned from his current position as part of a “reorganization” process that will cost the jobs of another hundred employees.

According to a statement collected by the ‘Times of Israel’, Shalev Hulio, one of the company’s founders, will leave his position in the hands of the company’s director of operations, Yaron Shohat, who will assume control over the reorganization process.

Hulio, however, will not leave the company, as he will remain as supervisor of its mergers and acquisitions arm.

The company was brought to the fore by scandals related to its Pegasus program, which allows microphone and camera activation on private devices without their owners’ knowledge.

The company has been linked to a series of international scandals related to the use of its software to spy on political or ideological rivals to the point that the US included NSO in a “black list” of entities involved in “transnational repression”.
