MADRID 8 Nov. () –
The CEO of Duro Felguera, Jaime Argüelles, has submitted his voluntary resignation from the position with effect from last November 6, as reported this Friday by the Asturian company, which will now begin a selection process to appoint Argüelles’ replacement.
Likewise, Duro Felguera has informed the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) that it has appointed Eduardo Espinosa, until now vice president of the company, as the new president, replacing the Mexican Jaime Isita, who will now become Vice President.
The board of directors of the engineering company has accepted the resignation of Jaime Argüelles both from his position as CEO, in which he had held since 2021, and from his status as a member of the board, and has agreed to call for a selection process for the election of the new CEO.
As long as this process is not concluded, it will be the Executive Committee of the board of directors that will assume the exercise of all delegated executive powers.
EDUARDO ESPINOSA, PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL
Regarding the appointment of Espinosa as president, Duro Felguera explained that it has been considered that, “due to his in-depth knowledge of the company and his residence in Gijón”, he is the most suitable person for this position.
Likewise, the company has appointed Nuno Mota, independent director, as coordinating director.
Duro Felguera has also reported that Espinosa will hold the position of president of the Executive Commission, in his capacity as president of the board of directors.
The vacancy created by Argüelles’ resignation on the Executive Committee has been filled by the board of directors, which has appointed proprietary director Gerardo Tietzsch to replace him. For his part, Isita, also CEO of the Prodi Group, will be a member of the Executive Committee.
The Mexican companies Prodi and Mota-Engil México took control of Duro Felguera by acquiring a 54.66% stake after executing the two capital increases that both companies agreed to with the Asturian engineering group.
Finally, the board of directors has agreed to appoint Guillermo de Alba Rodríguez as economic-financial director and Susana Santos Álvarez as director of Legal Advisory.
