The burning chapel of Isabel II closes after receiving visits for four days

The authorities of the United Kingdom have closed this Monday the burning chapel of Elizabeth II in the Palace of Westminster, in London, after remaining open to the public for four consecutive days without interruption.

Now the mortal remains of Elizabeth II, who died ten days ago, will be transferred to nearby Westminster Abbey, where at 11:00 a.m. (one more hour in mainland Spain) a state funeral is scheduled to be held as a culmination to the acts tribute to the monarch.

The Ministry of Culture, Media and Sport of the United Kingdom has confirmed on its Twitter social network profile at 6:30 a.m. (local time) the closure of the burning chapel after four days open to the public.

Throughout these days, waiting times of up to 14 hours have been recorded, and even the authorities have been forced to suspend entry to the queue due to the magnitude that it had reached, exceeding eight kilometers away.

Around 500 heads of state and international leaders will attend the queen’s funeral, including the king and queen of Spain, Felipe and Letizia, as well as the president of the United States, Joe Biden; that of France, Emmanuel Macron; or those of member countries of the Commonwealth.
