The Mandalay-based People’s Defense Forces (PDF) have claimed they have killed at least 75 members of the Burmese armed forces since the latest clashes broke out on April 5 in Shan State.
The armed wing of the Government of National Unity, the Burmese democratic authorities in exile, has specified that the Burmese Army used nearly 900 soldiers from at least seven battalions to attack the PDF bases, according to the Irrawaddy news portal.
The clashes began on April 5 at the border
between the Mandalay region and northern Shan state, lasting until April 14, when Burmese forces withdrew due to resistance attacks, PDF reported.
Burma has been mired in a civil war since the coup on February 1, 2021. The Burmese armed resistance is facing off against the military coup junta that has ruled the country since the military coup.
