As explained by the director of Road Operations of the Andean Road Concessionaire (Coviandina), Fernando Castillo, the collapse would have been caused by the rains at night, causing the material from the mountain to occupy the entire road.
Although Coviandina is advancing the removal activities, material is still falling on the road, so it has not been possible to enable the passage of vehicles.
In several sectors of this highway there are dammed vehiclesespecially between the Buenavista tunnel and Los Fundadores park, at the Villavicencio exit.
