A rescue helicopter has finally managed to locate the bodies of the mountaineers, who had been missing since Sunday. Mingma Sherpa, who has been in charge of the search operation, has indicated that the remains have been found at an altitude of 7,100 meters and has regretted that everything indicates that the climbers died after falling from 7,600 meters when trying to descend.

All of them have been identified as Alexander Dusheyko, Oleg Kruglov, Vladimir Chistikov, Mijail Nosenko and Dmitri Shpilevoi, who disappeared on October 6 while trying to climb Dhaulagiri, 8,167 meters high, making it the seventh highest peak in the world. world. However, another member of the group has been rescued alive and taken to a hospital in Kathmandu, the Nepalese capital.

The climbers left the base camp at 6:00 a.m. (local time) on Sunday, although the last time they communicated with their companions was around 11:00 a.m., according to information from the newspaper ‘The Himalayan Times’.

The spokesperson for the Russian Embassy in Nepal, Aliona Danilova, has indicated in statements to Russian media that the possibility of removing the bodies from the area for subsequent repatriation is currently being analyzed.
