The bodies found on the grounds of a Christian sect in northern Kenya increase to more than a hundred

27 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Kenyan authorities have located this Thursday another five bodies plus mass graves located on the land of a Christian sect in the south of the country, thus raising the total number of deaths to 103.

This has been confirmed to the media by the regional coordinator of the province of Costa, Rhoda Onyancha, who already on the eve announced the discovery of eight other people, all of them minors, according to the local newspaper ‘The Nation’.

According to local authorities, the Christian sect is located in the village of Shakahola, in Kilifi county, and is led by Paul Mackenzie, who was already arrested in mid-April along with thirteen other people.

The Kenyan Red Cross has already begun work to try to locate about 210 people – including some 110 minors – who have been reported missing in the context of investigations into this sect.

The main leaders of the sect urge adherents to fast until death under the promise that they will meet Jesus in a new life. The president of Kenya, William Ruto, has come to accuse him of “terrible criminal”.

On the other hand, the Minister of the Interior of Kenya, Kithure Kindiki, has announced the arrest of Ezequiel Odero, a well-known evangelical televangelist also related to the mass deaths of followers of the Christian sect.
