Samsung wants to reduce the prices of its folding phonesand among one of the measures that the company seems to be taking for this, it seems that we will have not one, not two, but three battery suppliers for the production of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. This means that not all of Samsung’s next-generation foldable handsets will feature the company’s batteries.
As we read in Phone Arenathe Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 may arrive with both Samsung SDI batteries and LG or ATL batteries inside, adding a point of uncertainty in terms of durability and autonomy in the batteries of these terminals. It should be noted that the three suppliers are of high quality, so this variation should be minimal.
This will be the first time that Samsung will use batteries other than those of its SDI subsidiary for its foldable phones, something that has to do with Samsung’s partnership with ATL. ApparentlyLG has also been included in the mix as a supplier of batteries of Samsung, so the company is obviously trying to diversify its sources.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 starting prices are rumored to be lower this year than their predecessors’ launch tags, so it makes sense that Samsung is taking these types of measures.
