The Army “neutralizes” about twenty alleged terrorists in bombardments in eastern Burkina Faso

May 12. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Burkina Faso Army has “neutralized” about twenty suspected terrorists during a series of bombardments in the town of Yamba (east), as part of the reinforcement of offensives against jihadists in the African country.

Security sources cited by the Burkinabe state news agency, AIB, have indicated that the suspects were identified in an area that they used to rest between operations, after which the Air Force bombed the area.

The Burkinabe authorities, now led by the military coup leader Ibrahim Traoré, decreed a general mobilization in April to face the increase in jihadist attacks in the country, the work of both the Al Qaeda affiliate and the Islamic State.
