A student killed this Thursday at a teacher and her classmate with a knife and injured another classmate at a high school in the north of Slovakia.
Slovakia’s emergency services spokeswoman, Danka Capakova, told Reuters that several teams had been sent on Thursday morning to a secondary school in Spisska Stara Vesa town of about 2,000 inhabitants. “At least two people were killed and one was injured,” he added.
The Police reported through a Facebook post that the 18-year-old student suspected of having committed the attack at the Spisska Stara Ves school was arrested shortly after the incident.
Several emergency medical teams were at the scene, but the number of injured is still unknown, the station reported.TA3.
“Thanks to the quick arrest of the suspect, there is no immediate danger at the moment and the police are taking other necessary measures to ensure safety,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
He said the interior and education ministers and the police chief were traveling to Spisska Stara Ves, a city with a population of more than 2,000 on the border with Poland, 376 kilometers (234 miles) northeast of the capital Bratislava.
In Slovakia, a central European country with 5.4 million inhabitants, Cases of serious violence are rare.
The country was shocked last May when the Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot in an assassination attempt.
