Finally, although not thanks to the specifications of NVIDIA, it has been known number of transistors with which this new NVIDIA flagship AD102 GPU has. A total of 76.3 billion transistors confirming the figure previously presented in the leaks of more than 75,000 million. These data have been provided by PNY in the presentation of your custom model NVIDIA RTX 6000 for professionals and content creators.
In addition to the number of transistors, it is known that this GPU is made with a TSMC’s 4nm custom nodewhich has made it possible to introduce nearly triple the number of transistors even in a smaller size 608.4mmtwo compared to the previous flagship GA102 with 628 mmtwo. This offers a density of transistors per mmtwo of 125.5 million.
We have already known that this new GPU offers a higher performance in tasks such as ray tracing or real-time rendering between 2 and 4 times higher than the previous Ampere Architecture. The AD102 GPU is present in the new NVIDIA RTX 4090 for gamers and in the new NVIDIA RTX 6000 for professionals also presented at this GTC 2022. In addition to this, NVIDIA has used two different GPUs for the remaining models presented, the AD103-300 GPU in the NVIDIA RTX 4080 with 16 GB of VRAM and the AD104-400 in the NVIDIA RTX 4080 with 12 GB of VRAMat the moment no further details of these two models present in the two variants of the NVIDIA RTX 4080 are known.

My passion for hardware began at the age of 14 when I gutted my first computer: a 386 DX 40 with 4MB of RAM and a 210MB hard drive. I continue to give free rein to my passion in the technical articles that I write in Geeknetic. I spend most of my free time playing video games, contemporary and retro, on the more than 20 consoles I have, in addition to the PC.
