The actions of the Ministry of Education in La Guajira

The Government announced that it will declare an economic emergency in La Guajiraone of the country’s departments facing nutrition problems, among others.

In the framework of this, the Ministry of Education referred to the actions that will be taken in this sector and it is about: “strengthening the school feeding, educational infrastructure, dignifying teachers, expanding the offer of higher education programsamong others”.

It is expected that this June 27 the contingency plan of the School Food Program (PAE) will be presented for the students of the boarding school at the Carasua campus. The programs to be strengthened are: PAE during school recess and indigenous PAE.

“The Wayumatamama district of Manaure will host the Government-People meeting in which the PAE will be presented to the country during the school break, within the framework of the Zero Hunger government program. This seeks to go from school classrooms to reach the homes of children and adolescents in high vulnerability and risk of food insecurity“, describes the portfolio.

In addition, they are expected to announce, in conjunction with the Pies Descalzos Foundation, the construction and dotation with new infrastructure the Nortechón Ethno-educational Center. And, in that same sense, they will present the improvements made by the Educational Infrastructure Financing Fund (FFIE) for 8 educational centers with a delivery date in December.

Another bet is the construction of a new building on the campus of the University of La Guajira (Riohacha), which will be co-financed with the university.

In this week of Government in the region they will also announce that they will launch the Faculty of Health at the University of La Guajira.
