July 13 (Portaltic/EP) –
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced that the new controller for its PlayStation 5 (PS5) platform, which is called Access, will be marketed as of December 6 of this year at a price of 89.99 euros.
The company presented earlier this year at CES 2023, held in Las Vegas (United States), known internally as Project Leonardo, a controller designed to address common challenges that many players with limited motor control face.
This means that the Japanese company aimed to offer a product with which users could accurately press small groups of buttons or trigger, or position their thumbs and fingers optimally on a standard controller.
SIE confirmed the name of this controller last May, when it recalled that this allowed the customization of its buttons and that it had been designed together with experts and developers for gamers with disabilities.
Access offers a kit of interchangeable components, buttons and different analog caps, so that gamers can tailor the gaming experience to their needs. In addition, it can be expanded through four 3.5mm AUX ports for the use of accessories, among other features.
The company has announced now that Access will be marketed as of December 6 of this year and that it will hit the market at a price of €89.99. Those interested will be able to reserve it for purchase from July 21 through its website.
