The 8th meeting of the Indonesia-Brazil Bilateral Consultation Forum was held in Balikpapan, Indonesia on May 4, 2023.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Director General of American and European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ambassador Umar Hadi, and the Secretary for Asia and the Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Ambassador Eduardo Paes Saboia.
The agenda examined the general state of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Brazil, including a wide range of regional and global issues of common interest, including agriculture, economic and socio-cultural cooperation, security and cooperation in the multilateral forums.

The two delegations expressed their satisfaction with the current state of relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further expand and diversify mutually beneficial cooperation. To support and develop this commitment, they agreed to reinvigorate Indonesia-Brazil bilateral relations through the establishment of the 2023-2026 Action Plan.
In addition, both delegations also agreed to collaborate on the program for the exchange of knowledge and experiences related to the development of the new capital of Indonesia, as well as to promote dialogues to promote the economy based on innovation.
