Bogota, Medellin and Manizales will compete with 75 other cities in the world in a contest that will choose the city with the best sustainability initiatives and that seeks to create awareness among citizens about the importance of sustainability in cities.

In ‘We Love Cities’, organized by the environmental organization wwf, they will face cities like Buenos Aires (Argentina), Mexico City (Mexico), Lima (Peru), Vancouver (Canada), Tokyo (Japan), Quito (Ecuador), Paris (France), Valencia (Spain), Stockholm ( Sweden), San José (Guatemala) and Santa Monica (United States).
The contest, which has existed since 2013 and takes place every two years, invites people from all over the world to vote for their cities and support your sustainability initiatives, as well as to send suggestions to improve them.

Until October 31, you can vote and the city that achieves the highest number of digital votes will be recognized as the winner.
The three Colombian cities arrived here after, in 2021, WWF summoned some cities in the country to participate in one of its challenges of sustainability, in which they presented their actions to stop the climate crisis on different fronts: transport, energy, waste, buildings and food.

Bogotá, Medellín and Manizales had the best performance among the 18 participating cities in Colombia, according to the international expert jury on urban environmental issues, and thus reached the ‘We Love Cities’ global contest.
