The Election Commission of Thailand has chosen May 14 as the day of the general elections, after the announcement on Monday of the dissolution of Parliament. Candidacies for deputy may be presented in the first week of April.
The date has been chosen today at a meeting of the Commission by unanimous decision, which is the 55th day of the 60-day period in which the elections must be held.
The Electoral Commission has set the dates for the presentation of candidacies for deputies for the first week of April. Applications for candidates for deputies by constituency will be accepted from April 3 to 7, while applications for candidates by party list will be accepted from April 4 to 7.

The nomination venues are expected to be the Bangkok Thai-Japanese Youth Center for constituency MP candidates and Bangkok Second City Hall for party list candidates. Both places are located in the Din Daeng district of the capital.
