The Parliament of Thailand will host in October the 30th annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF). Post-pandemic recovery and sustainable development will be some of the topics to be discussed.
The National Assembly of Thailand will host the Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) this year from October 26-29 at the new Parliament House in Bangkok, marking the first international meeting held at this venue. In a press conference, the President of the Chamber and the 30th Annual Meeting of the APPF, Chuan Leekpai, said that this will be the first face-to-face meeting of the APPF since the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be held under the theme “Parliaments and sustainable development after COVID-19”.
So far, parliamentarians from 20 countries of the 28 invited have accepted the invitation.

Mr. Chuan said that this meeting will be a good opportunity for Thailand to advance win-win agendas.

The meeting will serve as a platform for parliamentarians to exchange views and experiences on the roles of legislative assemblies towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Speaker of the House of Representatives said that Thailand will play an important role in advancing urgent motions related to the livelihood of the people of Asia-Pacific and the mutual benefits between Thailand and other countries.
