“The game will evolve with a seasonal system, so there will be a new season every three months with major content, events, new races, new cars and competitive rewards,” says creative director Alain Jarniou. During the first season, players will roam the streets of Hong Kong Island to participate in Solar Crown events and earn Solar Points that help progress through the ranks. This season includes 60 player levels, 50 levels of Sharps/Streets clan progression and a free 25-level Solar Pass with various rewards, including cosmetics and a car.
Season 2 will arrive in December alongside a content update that will see Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown return to Ibiza, the setting of Test Drive Unlimited 2. The island has been reproduced to scale “with a focus on Ibiza Town and its surroundings,” says game director Guillaume Guinet. While exploring or racing around Ibiza, players will recognise buildings and landmarks such as the cathedral and marina. The island will also have a new time loop that will create a contrast with Hong Kong Island.
Ibiza will be accompanied by a clan progression with 20 additional levels, a Solar Pass, new rewards and new cars including five “Selene” editions, which are improved versions of already available models but reinterpreted “just as current tuners would do.”
The third season of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown revolves around the clash between the Sharps and the Streets, taking place on both Hong Kong and Ibiza islands. This war includes a variety of activities to progress through 30 new levels of clan progression and new rewards. The fourth and final season of the first year will mark the return of the Casino, another feature carried over from Test Drive Unlimited 2, which includes 50 levels of progression, poker, slot machines, new cosmetics and the chance to win cars.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is coming September 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
