Ten dead in Israeli attack on former school in Gaza

MADRID 16 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Ten suspected members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) were killed in an Israeli air strike on Saturday afternoon on a former school in the Al Shati refugee camp, in Gaza City.

The Israeli Armed Forces have reported that suspected Hamas members had set up a command center inside the former Abu Assi School, now used to house displaced people, and were preparing an “imminent” attack against Israeli military forces.

Israeli aviation bombed the site with “precision munitions” and has denounced that Hamas “systematically” uses the civilian population as human shields.

A spokesman for the Gaza Civil Defense, Mahmud Basal, has confirmed the death of ten people and more than twenty injured according to an initial toll. Basal explained to the Anatolia news agency that two projectiles hit.

Six more people have been killed in an attack on a barbershop in the center of Gaza City and four more have been killed in an attack in southern Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Health sources put the number of deaths in Israeli attacks during the day on Saturday at 38, counting only since dawn.
