Tellado defends Mazón’s management and accuses the Government of "take political advantage of the tragedy"

The spokesperson for the Popular Party in Congress, Miguel Tellado, defended this Saturday the management of the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, during the first days of DANA. And he has accused the central government of “taking political advantage” of the catastrophe.

In statements to the media at a popular event in Ferrol, Tellado wanted to “value the work that has been done by the Generalitat”, but regretted that she has been “very alone” and “abandoned” by the Government. from Spain. “I wish the unity of society had been reflected on the political level, but unfortunately that could not be because the attitude of the PSOE was very different,” commented Tellado.

The spokesperson explained that one day after the worst hours of DANA, on Wednesday, October 30, the PP asked to suspend the plenary session in Congress “so that the Government could go to work and we could pay attention to what was happening in the Community “Valencian”. But, “unfortunately, the PSOE put its partisan interests above other issues. While we asked for the total suspension of the plenary session, what the PSOE wanted was to take control of the RTVE Board of Directors and appoint eleven representatives of the PSOE and its partners through the back door,” commented Tellado. “Much has been said about the agenda of the president of the Generalitat when the one who was in the CECOPI was the autonomous government and the one who was very far away was the Government of Spain: Sánchez in India, vice president Teresa Ribera in Brussels and Paris and the number two from Ribera, the Secretary of State for the Environment, in Colombia,” he criticized. Along these lines, several members of the PP – among them Mazón – have tried in the last few hours to convey the idea that Vice President Ribera did not contact Mazón until 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday the 29th. He has also criticized the trip of Pedro Sánchez and Teresa Ribera next week to the Climate Summit in Azerbaijan (COP29): “Next week Mazón will appear in the Valencian Parliament to give an account of his government’s management.
