TelevisaUnivision announces change of financial director due to health issues

Ferreiro has served as TelevisaUnivision’s Chief Financial Officer since October 2021, overseeing all areas of the company’s global financial organization, including corporate finance, treasury, risk management, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, among other activities. He also held leadership positions at Televisa for more than two decades.

Who is the new CFO?

Juan Pablo Newman Aguilar, as Director of Growth for TelevisaUnivision Mexico, is responsible for overseeing all national advertising, sales, marketing and commercial operations for national and local broadcast television, as well as pay and streaming in the country. He works alongside multi-functional teams, including production, programming, research and information technology, integrating advertising and content sales.

Prior to joining TelevisaUnivision, he served as CEO of Afore XXI-Banorte, the largest pension fund in Latin America.

He also served as Head of the Public Credit Unit of Mexico’s Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), which oversees the nation’s domestic and foreign debt. Newman Aguilar also served as CFO of Pemex where he implemented energy reform and executed the country’s first oil hedging program.

Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Investments and Treasury at Nacional Financiera (NAFIN), Mexico’s largest development bank.

Newman Aguilar holds a Bachelor of Applied Mathematical Sciences from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and obtained his Master’s degree in Operational Research from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
