The last update Telegram for Android and iOS comes standard with a new Power saving mode which reduces the use of resources by cutting out some features such as the automatic reproduction of gifs, videos or animated emoticons.
This functionality serves both to increase the autonomy of the smartphone and to make Telegram work more fluently in terminals with basic specifications. As the app has grown in functionalities, more or less useful, its consumption and weight have increased until it can become a problem on older mobiles or with low-end hardware.
This saving mode can be activated manually or set a battery limit so that it activates automatically. It’s also possible to customize which features are turned on or off when power saver is on, so users can choose whether to keep, for example, smooth transitions or video autoplay when power saver mode is on.
In energy saving mode it is already available in the latest version of the Telegram application for Android and iOS through the Google Play application stores and also in the Apple App Store.
