Telefónica has been awarded the public tender for the provision of the Spanish Radio Television (RTVE) email and collaboration service for 4.35 million euros, according to what appears on the State contracting portal and reported by Europa Press.
In the technical specifications of the tender it is indicated that RTVE requires the hiring of a specialized provider that has the technological means and adequate technical resources to ensure the quality of the aforementioned service.
In this sense, the award seeks to “achieve the most appropriate design of the service for RTVE and its implementation through the configuration, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the platforms that make up the corporate network infrastructure, integrated with other communications services.” of RTVE, throughout the life of the contract”.
RTVE has currently implemented the email and collaboration service in the Microsoft Office365 ‘cloud’, with the corresponding licenses for use in subscription mode to guarantee compatibility with the office tools used and to allow the exchange, editing and sharing of files of different types. without loss of functionality.
Thus, the document specifies that the approximate number of RTVE end users that use Microsoft Office365 services is 6,500 and taking into account that, in the case of email, there are employees who manage a personal account and one or more generic.
According to the published documentation, Telefónica’s was the only offer presented for this public contract.
