Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the arrival of AFC Richmond and his coach, Ted Lasso, to FIFA23, in a collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment that will allow fans of this sports title to control the team from the AppleTV+ fiction series.
EA SPORTS FIFA 23 will allow you to take control of AFC Richmond in multiple game modes including Career Mode, Kickoff, Online Friendlies and Online Seasons. There will be items related to this equipmentsuch as kits, tifos, manager items and other content, which can also be unlocked in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) and Pro Clubs.
And along with the team, coach Ted Lasso, played in the series of the same name by actor Jason Sudeikis, will be available as selectable manager in Career mode. Players can also create their own manager or select a real-world licensed manager to take control of AFC Richmond, or create a player and join the AFC Richmond roster in a league of their choice.
Fans will also be able to play AFC Richmond, which will be part of the ‘Rest of the world’ league, in Kick Off, Online Friendlies and Online Seasons modes, with Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya and Dani Rojas as part of the Greyhounds roster. AFC Richmond’s iconic stadium, Nelson Road, will also appear in FIFA 23.
From EA they have highlighted in a statement that “the collaboration with the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment team to bring AFC Richmond to life in the game is one more example of how EA SPORTS continues blurring the lines between the game, entertainment and the real world of football“.
FIFA 23 is developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and will be available worldwide for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, PS4 and Xbox One. September 30th. Early access for FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition begins on September 27, 2022.
