“Dynamic, professional and resilient diplomacy under the leadership of the Government has helped Taiwan expand its international presence while strengthening cooperation with allies and like-minded countries,” declared the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and China’s unfounded coercion against Taiwan have caused regional tensions and challenges to the rules-based international order, the MOFA said.
Taiwan’s role as an indispensable member of global democracies and its geopolitical strategic importance have made it a focal point in the region and around the world, the ministry added.
According to MOFA, there is an international consensus on maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. The people of Taiwan have maintained calm and composure in the face of authoritarian threats, the ministry said.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and provocations from Beijing, prominent political figures have continued to visit Taiwan, showing their strong support for the nation, MOFA said.
Many international media and non-governmental organizations have also set up offices in Taiwan, reflecting the nation’s global recognition as an important center for the democratic world, the ministry added.
As a force for good in the international community, Taiwan stands ready to provide aid to democratic friends in need, as demonstrated by the nation’s solidarity with Ukraine after the Russian invasion, MOFA stressed.
Taiwan will continue to deepen relations with its allies and strengthen ties with like-minded partners with the aim of expanding its international space, the ministry concluded.
