Taiwan promotes global food resilience and sustainability at WTO forum

He Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan (MOFA) held a seminar in Geneva entitled “Building sustainability and resilience in food systems through digital transformation” within the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Global Review of Aid for Trade, which took place from 26 to 28 June.
Presentations were made during the forum by the Taipei-based International Development Cooperation Fund, Data Yoo Application Co., and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Rural Development of Saint Lucia.

According to MOFA, they all shared how Taiwan facilitates allied nations in promoting food security through the public and private sectors.

A pillar in promoting global economic growth through trade and digital technology

As a member of the WTO and the international community, Taiwan has been actively contributing its expertise to global cooperation projects. The symposium highlighted the nation’s use of digital technology to build more resilient production systems, improve marketing of agricultural products, counter climate change and increase economic development.

The aim of the event, which was to help developing countries boost economic growth through trade, has seen Taiwan play an active role in hosting activities under the Global Review of Aid for Trade.
