Recently, an Industrial Cooperation Delegation arrived in Paraguay with representatives from the Government of Taiwan and leading businessmen from various fields.
The delegation is carrying out work with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and has on its agenda visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Paraguayan Industrial Union (UIP) and prominent national companies, among other organizations, reported the Taiwanese Foreign Ministry.
In addition, the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the main objective of this visit is to exchange knowledge on industrial policy in the sectors of textiles, processed foods, auto parts and electromobility (electric buses) that will help economic development.
During the meeting at the IPU headquarters, technicians from renowned research institutions in Taiwan will give presentations on industrial development in the nation.
The event will conclude with a lunch where several Taiwanese and Paraguayan businessmen will have the opportunity to exchange information between the public and private sectors, the embassy said.
The delegation will also participate in the forum Invest in Paraguay organized by the Investment and Export Network, in which an extremely crucial exchange of knowledge for companies will be reached and where the country’s industrial capacity will be perceived, the embassy said.
Another visit will take place at the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant and the Technological Park, where Paraguay’s potential for electricity can be shown, which will be extremely important for the electromobility projects that are being worked on, the embassy said.
This delegation comes as a result of the signing of the letter of understanding between the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Paraguay, Luis Castiglioni, and the Minister of Economy of Taiwan, Wang Mei-hua, on March 31, 2022.
